‘I’m 26, and owner at Exquisite Trimmings Webstore. I went to high school in Liverpool, England, till 18, then religious education. My wife and I have one son, our second is due any day now! My wife is very enthusiastic about the business, she loves meeting and speaking with the various representatives of the brands we deal with and learning about the way the products are made. She is my motivation to ensure that Exquisite Trimmings grows into a respectable brand name in the luxury goods industry. I have 1 brother and 1 sister, they and my parents are also very interested in the business and provide constant inspiration. They are amazed their son and little brother is flying around the world to buy ties!

From a young age I was always interested in clothes and dressing well but it was more of a streetwear style that a tailored approach, not till my late teens did I become interested in classic tailored clothing. Also, living in the UK, every time I visited London I would take a walk down Jermyn Street and Savile Row, even now I am still in awe every time I stroll down those historic streets. My knowledge in this area is mainly from internet forums and speaking with people in the industry. Right now I am working on expanding my library of men’s style books. [My hobby is] family time! I like to play tennis, pool, snooker, eating out and enjoying life with my family and friends.

In the office I tend to dress in a more relaxed way, no tie or jacket, but I relish opportunities when I get to dress in the full suit and tie outfit. My brand catalogue for my wardrobe is relatively small. Also, being that my budget isn’t huge it is all RTW. For shirts, Charles Tyrwhitt. They have a great quality to price ratio. For suits, Kiton, Zegna and Isaia. Shoes, Jones Bootmaker, Herring and Loake. Accessories, E.G. Cappelli, Rubinacci and Drake’s are my main providers. My father always tells me, fashion is for the masses, style is for the individual. That is my inspiration to dress well according to my interpretations and not following what the latest celebrities are wearing.

One of the most important things I have learned is that it is important to access your budget and decide what is the best you can buy with the money you have. You can dress well without wearing the finest handmade clothing. Always keep things simple, not too many patterns. Wear what makes you feel and dress for yourself, not someone else.’
